Family Home and Life: A Very Special Day!

We had a very exciting day yesterday! It was the adoption day for my youngest granddaughter! That?s right, Itty Bitty is adopted and she is ours 100% at last! We have waited for this day since she came home to live in our family at two days old; and that was about sixteen months ago.

Several of the immediate family and friends took the day off work to attend the court hearing making the adoption final. We made up quite a crowd as we all took our turns passing through security at the court house. Inside, we waited in patience excitement for it to be our turn before the judge. All the kids were dressed up for the special day of course and some of us began photographing the play and happy faces of the cute kids. Security told us we had to put cameras away until we were inside in court room where we would not be infringing on the privacy of others who might accidentally be in the photos.

We crowded inside when it was our turn and several of us had to stand because there were a lot of us! The judge questioned my son and his wife and the adoption agency representative as we all watched and listened. The kids were good and sat still and quiet. When the judge finished and pronounced his agreement that Itty Bitty should be ours forever we cheered and clapped! Of course the picture taking began then.

It was so exciting; it was as exciting to us as if she had just been born and we were standing outside the hospital nursery window adoring her for the first time! We all then went to Itty Bitty?s home to celebrate with food, fun, swimming and cake. She was presented with gifts; and here is what she received from me. ?A personalized book from I See Me, ??Who loves Me?? (I wrote a review for this book, click here to see it.) ?One day I intend to write her story and how she came to be in our lives. I think it?s a rather special story, and I have been waiting until the legalities were all done before I shared it with you. What a wonderful day! ?
